1. He Zong Wei is seriously such a disgrace to scholars. He’s so annoying. But FX is smart to not waste any time and energy on him knowing he’s just a small fry and another tool that’s being used.

   But omg the sudden one-on-one fansign event was hilarious!!!!! HAAHAHAHAH. It felt kinda weird that it took FX so long to figure out “somebody” wants his FIL dead when CPP dropped such obvious hints, but I’ll let it slide coz the whole rescue part was hilarious. Couldn’t stop laughing. Love that 1st prince was there too to witness the whole thing. XD When FX said “To 一个” and the knight tried purging himself, then with the face 1st prince made looking at FX when FX tried correcting his mistake, and even the face FX made himself!!!!! XDDD But 1st prince second expression was icing on the cake coz it made it clear that 1st prince was judging FX’s handwriting and not his mistake. LOLOL

   Ep22 and 23 were both really good. It truly brought back the feeling of season 1. Kind of a pity it took more than half the show to finally get that same tone in terms of dialogue. It was sort of getting there since ep12, but it wasn’t consistent. Many dialogues still felt a bit bland and repetitive. It’s even more obvious when the dialogue is supposed to create suspense or excitement, or hint at something major later on. Characters were still often over-explaining things, which took away a lot of fun in having to read between the lines. But for ep22 and 23, I think they finally nailed it and balanced it well.

   I didn’t watch the English subs for the entire episodes, but in terms of Chinese dialogues, I think they’ve finally brought back the witty and cryptic style especially during the scene between PM and the emperor, and PM and FX, though the PM still had to spell it out for FX sometimes. Lol. FX is smart, no doubt, but he’s definitely not as smart as the PM or CPP, let alone the emperor.

   We’ve only got 13 episodes left now and this is honestly ending too quickly :((( I feel like we’ve barely scratched the surface and it’s almost time for curtain call already. It really sucks that we’ve only got 36 episodes this season. But I guess after this I can rewatch season 1 and 2 back-to-back so fill the void. Lol

   I can’t stop laughing. It’s just so funny. XDD

2. ah that games the emperor plays! he is not bothered about anyone including his sons! all is a game for him and rest are chess pieces! hope someone could defeat him! FX is not mature enuf…this politics is boring…they could have just taken him to check who killed his mom and who is behind all those life threats to him! and what is in the water in the place his mom stayed and that secret of North temple! what is the secret of his uncle and his connection with his mom! this would have been better..

3. Emperor in is one messed up mofo❗
   Controlling everyone like they are his blasted playthings! Mind games overload, luckily Prime Minister is smart at knowing the Emperor moves before he shifts his piece.
   Sad watching Da Bao bowing to his Dad and not even knowing what the reason was.😔
   If Master Chen hadn’t sent the troops to rescue the PM, who know what would have been the end?
   At this point I am rooting for FX to NEVER know that crazy controlling nut is his father! 😠
